Sturmdrache

Achtung! Kleinteile.
A few things: 1. It's supposed to move but even after thoroughly checking and following instructions to a T it doesn't budge. 2. It says no glue needed but I had to glue the horns so they would stop falling off. 3. The wooden hook tool broke when using it to stretch rubber bands as instructions stated. 4. The stand it comes with that you put together keeps falling back from the model's weight and not holding it off the table. All that said, it was fun to build and looks great. I like that it came with line to hang it from my ceiling.
Following the failure of the ratchet I have managed to motorise the model with a 12v dc 200rpm geared miniature motor. Ideally this would be within the body but connection to the winding shaft would be complex. The motor is beside the spine, held with small cable ties and connected to the upper left shaft with a tubular coupling superglued to the round bush. This gives a very good action at a reasonable speed.
The model is big and absolutely gorgeous. Took me a whole day to assemble. I reccomend it!
A very beautiful piece !
Just had a little problem during the construction but now it’s fixed.
It’s about the main mechanism.
Don’t worry it work very well !
I've made a number of these models and this is one of the most challenging. Great appearance but mechanically on the edge. The ratchet gave up before completion despite winding less than instructed. The amount of torque is surely too much for wooden parts and a few crucial parts in metal or nylon should be considered. I will attempt to install a miniature motor drive.
Brought this for my husband for christmas, its his first build. Thoroughly enjoyed making it, some very fiddly steps in places but came together nicely. The workings once together don't always work smoothly but its a lovely looking model and it does what its meant to when wound up most of the time.
Got here pretty quickly, I ordered it on December 1st, and it got here on the 8th with priority shipping. Came in minimal damage with the box unopened. Seems legit and great for a Christmas present.
Still haven't finished assembly but nothing to complain
I just received this for Christmas and spent the past few days putting it together, taking a day or two between times since these kinds of puzzles always hurt my fingers. I managed to snap one of the wing pieces by dropping it, but glued it back together no problem with a bit of wood glue. The movement is beautiful, though the gears bind quite a bit. I'm not sure if that's due to me not waxing them enough or maybe I tightened it too much, but beyond that, it's an amazing model and was a lot of fun to assemble. Definitely not something I would recommend for less experienced builders, as some of the sections are quite difficult. It's marked a 4 for a reason!
I've assembled at least 6 uGears models now -- easily the best brand out there. The dragon is one of the coolest-looking ones I've built, and it sits really nicely on top of its "roost" (my wifi router, which has enough antennas to look like a proper dragon nest). My one wish is that they might redesign it with a spring drive like the newer models use, instead of rubber bands since those break as they age.
A hint for folks who have issues with the mechanism binding: I recommend using paraffin-based tea lights for waxing the gears, since it's more slippery than the wax that ships with the model. Make sure to run the gears manually 5-10 times during each major step of assembly to make sure the model runs smoothly when it's built. And keep in mind, these are wood puzzles and wood isn't a low-friction material.

Fantasztikus időtöltés volt összeépíteni. A model gyönyörű és tökéletesen működik. Voltak egyes részek, amiket kicsit megcsiszoltam, hogy biztosan jól mozogjanak.
Hay posibilidad de poner motor eléctrico ?
