¿Alguna vez has visto un motor en marcha y te has preguntado qué pasa exactamente dentro? ¿Cómo se mueven los pistones, cómo se abren y se cierran las válvulas, cómo todas esas piezas separadas funcionan juntas como una sola máquina?
El motor de avión R-5 fue creado para hacer visible toda esa mecánica.
Desarrollado por la Kinner Airplane & Motor Corporation en Estados Unidos y certificado en 1935, este motor radial de cinco cilindros propulsó aviones de entrenamiento durante toda la década de 1930 y la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Fiable, refrigerado por aire y fácilmente reconocible por su disposición en forma de estrella, ayudó a preparar a toda una generación de pilotos militares y civiles antes de que se pusieran a los mandos de aviones más grandes y potentes, ganándose un lugar como uno de los corazones mecánicos de los inicios de la aviación.
Conecta el cable USB-C, enciende el modelo y ese ritmo inconfundible cobrará vida.
Cinco pistones se mueven siguiendo la secuencia de encendido correcta –1-3-5-2-4– mientras el tren de válvulas se abre y se cierra en perfecta sincronía por encima de ellos. La hélice gira suavemente a medida que todo el mecanismo se asienta en el ritmo constante por el que se caracterizan los motores radiales, llevando el espíritu de los primeros vuelos a tu banco de trabajo.
Por diseño, cada elemento es visible y está a la vista: varillas de empuje metálicas, muelles de compresión, sincronización de válvulas por engranajes y un cigüeñal que lo une todo –montado por ti, funcionando ante tus ojos, sin más explicación que la propia mecánica–.
La hélice fresada también cuenta con un mecanismo de seguridad integrado que se desactiva si encuentra resistencia. Es un detalle muy ingenioso que ayuda a proteger tanto el modelo como las manitas curiosas, las patitas o cualquier otra cosa que se acerque demasiado mientras el motor está en marcha.

Well produced model, good instructions hope to see more mechanical models.
Usual great detail, and quality. Different colored part are an awesome addition to the normal UGears products. More of that in future models is needed. Great kit, took about 8 hours to assemble, but it may take longer if you have less experience with UGears kits.

Das Modell ist sehr gut, technisch super entwickelt es passt alles gut und ist alles gut beschrieben die Konstruktion ist hervorragend da ist nichts zu bemängeln.
I have purchased about 20 U Gear models, and emjoyed every one of them, but this one has to be the worst one of them all. To many small parts. Parts that fit to tight and have to br filed to fit. Nothing likes to lineup because of the construction plans. I am on part number 31 and the cylinders do not like to be installed correctly without some prombles. So far I have broke 5 pieces and had to repair them with glue. There is no way I would recommend this model to my friends.

I am at 80 year old man who built bottles when I was a kid I love to build your models. They are a little bit hard sometimes between left and right hand and stuff like that on him but I get it done and it worked. I loved loved the project.

I love you work. But, this time I had to throw this one out Just before the end (I was at Page 30 of the instructions manual). For that part you had to push down quite strongly to put down the cap of the single cylinder, I ended up breaking some pieces, for this rease I think thatthe the whole strutture could have been designed Better. Also, toothpics for a model that cost up tò 90 euros I don't think it's a good choice. Sorry for my english and anyway I still likes your models very much

just arrived, looks great
Had to sleeve the push rods to maintain contact with the rocker arms.
Aside from that no problems works fine.
