At Ugears, we want to give more with every model we invent. With this model, Ugears gives you – quite literally – the world. Presenting the Globus, your own world of mechanical marvels. The Globus is a stylized model of Earth with a set of decorative continents, a rotating mechanism, and curious little extras that make the model even more interesting. 

The main module of the model comprises two parts: the globe and the platform with the mechanism. The sphere of the globe sits on an axle inclined along the same angle as the axis of the Earth. In addition to the main module, the model comes with two interchangeable extra-modules: the Shuttle and the Sputnik. Choose which satellite you want to circle your Globus today, and set it on a special support. The satellites are also powered by the rubber-band motor and connect to the main module via the planetary gearing. Due to this connection, the satellites rotate almost twice as fast as the globe and make almost two full spins in one pull of a winding lever.

    The looks are perfect. We were able to assemble it.
    I'm a little confused that it's doest move.
    We saw it at a market in Paris and the one we saw was rotating but somehow this one is stuck.
    We assembled it well but can't figure out the moving mechanisms.

    Only used 1 rubber band is this why it doesnt run by self after cranking? I can rotate the big gear showing in front but the crank handle doesnt catch n stop

    It's very nice to assemble despite missing parts, the parts are of good quality but it's impossible to reach customer service at the moment to ask for missing parts

    I bought it for my husband, but he said he has no nerves for assembling :) So I tried it myself. It was very easy to follow the instruction. Just be sure to wax all gears and parts and check mooving as showen so you will enjoy your spinning globus. I had a great time assembling and I'm impressed on the product itself. And now, what to buy next?

    I had it as a gift and it is a really cool kit, easy to follow the steps and it looks cool on the shelf but I guess I did something wrong because the mechanisms of the base won't turn, they are kind of stuck and I am afraid If I try to dismantle anything I will be lost with the pieces numbers or I will break something.
    I will try another one of the kits, though, I really enjoy the mounting and the looks.

    Just finished building this model and went on the website to buy another. The process was very relaxing and the final product was really cool! I was worried it might feel flimsy and cheap but everything is good quality and I didn't have anything break during assembly. I would recommend this to others and will be buying more!

    Found this on a whim, love globes and puzzles so Thought I would give it a try. Parts easily removed, sturdy construction, looks great… could use slightly better instructions. 1) make sure to wax gears and round parts thoroughly… they need to move without much friction. 2). When you install the pull/gear lever (Step 8/9), make sure teeth are showing, otherwise you’ll lock the gear into place (won’t be able to pull/actualize. Had a lot of fun putting together. Will buy more.
