Ugears wooden 3D brain teaser Safe with personal lock combination

Considering safe-cracking as a profession? This might be just where you should start. Build your own safe with a personal lock combination, store your most precious items in the safe (jewelry or candy, your choice), and then promptly forget your combination! Follow the handy steps in the instructions to master the mix of slow knob twists and careful listening to tumbler movements that will open the lock. Will you retrieve your items, or will you have to hire a locksmith? Try it and see.

Rules of the safe opening:

At first you should renew code lock: twist the knob safe counterclockwise (left) to one-two turns. You can now dial the code:

1 - Scroll the knob counterclockwise (left) to the first digit from 1 to 9. Stay on it.

2 - Now turn the knob clockwise (right) to the number zero. After passing zero continue to twist the handle to the right to the second code digits from 1 to 9. Stay on it.

3- Again turn the knob counterclockwise (left) to the third digit.

If the combination is correct, your safe clicks and opens itself on the third digit.

(Briefly rules: twist left to the first digit, then right to the second zero digit and then left of the third digit).

To re-close the safe - close the door, scroll the knob counterclockwise (left) - the lock closes itself.

Zeer tof om te maken, en een mooi eind resultaat.
Alleen jammer dat de stukjes niet altijd goed passen.
Mijn papa heeft een hamer moeten gebruiken voor de zijkanten.

Es hat uns viel Spaß gemacht, den Tresor zusammen mit meiner 9-jährigen Tochter zusammenzubauen.
Die Anleitung ist größtenteils gut, nur die deutsche Übersetzung bei den sprachlichen Teilen ist nur mäßig und an einer Stelle schlichtweg falsch (wo es ums Testen des Codes geht, steht immer nur, dass man nach links drehen soll, was in anderen Sprachen bei der zweiten Scheibe richtigerweise rechts ist).

Wir waren sehr froh, als wir es endlich geschafft hatten. Nur funktionierte nach ein paar Malen der Code nicht mehr. Das Rad lässt sich nicht mehr frei nach links drehen. Zum Glück gibt es eine Notöffnung!
Drinnen habe ich dann festgestellt, dass sich die Zahlenscheiben nicht rund drehen, sondern sie eiern. Die scheinen nicht richtig fixiert zu sein. Ich habe leider keine Erklärung dafür und wenig Lust (und noch weniger Zeit) wieder alles am Code auseinanderzunehmen.

This was so fun to put together. Instructions were well-written, and it was easy to modify it to work with one of the other suggested combination options. Really solid construction and I was amazed at how well the pieces all fit together! I used a small hammer to tap the pieces into place, and applying some candle wax where suggested really helped the gears to move smoothly. Amazing work!!! Can’t wait to try another one of these!

This was my first For ugears and i must say the wood is quite thick and hurts the thumbs after a while but my goodness its sturdy.
I enjoyed making this safe. although the hardest part was setting the code combination lock.
I still dont think i have done it right it seems to unlock quite easy. It kinda makes up for the fact there is not thhhaaaaat much else to do with this make ad its a box.
The door is the main feature.
It does look good though.

I look forward to my next ugears build.
