UGEARS

Shopping experience was fine. I did have a slight problem getting UGears to agree to take back a model that was unopened (I had been given a model I had already built as a gift) but eventually we got that straightened out. Biggest issue I had was the use of FedEx for shipping. They literally lost it for 2.5 weeks before it finally surfacing and getting delivered. The outer, brown shipping box was badly mashed, but the model box, and the kit itself, were fine.

The engineering that went into designing this kit blows my mind. A multi-link, working rear suspension, pumping pistons, turning radiator fans, Storage of the crank handle in the front compartment, working steering, panel lines lining up, etc. I've built 9 UGear models to date, and before this one, the Manned Mars Rover was my favorite, with honorable mention to my first, the Hurdy-Gurdy. I found one error in the manual, and I have one issue with the kit that prevents it from actually running unless I do a manual intervention. I'll follow up with customer support on both issues, but neither should be a reason for anyone to not purchase this model. If you love UGear models, and you enjoy the complex builds, then this is a must have!

I thought it would be more difficult but enjoyed making it. Makes me think now in my 80's. Would be good to be able to use the V8 engine to drive another UGEAR model. I'm looking for a model steam roller (the type used years ago to roll tarmac on the roads) to work on this winter.

BRILLIANT. The UGT 24 is a fantastic model kit, the attention to detail is incredible, forward, reverse, sport and neutral, full suspension, working windscreen wiper, fuel caps, pistons, radiator fans, elasticated opening on all doors etc. Everything fitted together perfectly, slightly sand each connecting point and wax as described (l use Vaseline, and Emery boards) I recently finished the Millennium Falcon also brilliant.

I'm not finished yet but I'm loving it! It makes me be creative in order to figure out how to put this together. The engineering it took to create is amazing! My only negative thought is that because the wood is thicker that other models it is sometimes very difficult to remove the parts from the boards. A little more of a cut could improve that. It is a fun challenge.
