Almost every country that celebrates Christmas has a tradition of installing a Nativity Scene: a display that features newborn Jesus in a stable with Mary, Joseph, an Angel, and the three wise men. From a technical point of view, the Nativity Scene model is on the simpler mechanics and assembly side of the Ugears collection. We wanted the whole family, including younger children, to be able to participate and enjoy putting it together. Being a fine piece of a traditional Christmas decor, the model nevertheless has basic gear mechanism that animates certain elements of the set. To start the mechanism, manually rotate any of interconnected gears that you will see on the sides and on the top of the model. This will make the star on the roof of the barn move while at the same time rotating the gears with carved designs and animating the background of the scene.

The Nativity Scene 3-D puzzle from Ugears is made of high-grade plywood and comes with all you need for assembly: no glue or additional tools required. The details are pre-cut in the wooden boards with a precise laser and come out of their slots with a slight push – to help you with the smallest bits, there is a special tool provided with the set.

Highly recommended as a starter gift, my partner who has had a few issues and is fighting to recover, loves puzzles, but even in her case, it took little more than 1 hour. I have written a review for amazon, where I bought this I have already left a review but also wanted to have my say here. When you open the packet you get two thin sheets of wooden templates, personally, I am badly influenced by the balsa wood models from my child wood. The UGEAR are nothing like that and are in a different world, very well designed and thought through, the step-by-step instructions are a dream come true for an engineer. Trust the instructions they will guide you to the perfect model. It took my partner 55 minutes to assemble this with all of her challenges. The result is an incredible and elegant model. No Tools are needed, no glue, and no screws. These are genius as are the designers.

First time I have ever tried something like this. I loved it. I bought 6 of these for kids and grandkids. The first one took me about 90 minutes. Third about 45 minutes. Last one completed in 30. It's easy to get started, just make sure you follow the directions. The Lambs foot broke as I was removing it from the cut sheet. Spot of glue and it was fine. If you are a first timer, just take your time. All 6 turned out great. My family will love them. Now, what do I try now. Clock?

I am making several of these throughout the year and I plan to give them as hand-built Christmas presents in early December. Fun and easy to assemble, I’m sure to keep occupied between some of the larger, more challenging pieces.
